GR Webster and I wrote a clear article on IMACS. That appeared with a very warm response by Rod Ward. That was part of the origin of Avia Mini. I will post that later.

The more I think about it, the more I think the issue we need to address is making the archival known and accessible everyone with a legitimate interest. Some is still in print. Most is not. Detlef has been making an energetic effort to create a deep archive under the rubric of the IPMS.de 200 scale SIG.What is there already will give you some notion of what lies "out there". I would ask Detlet and the veterans of IMACS and TOTS to chime in on this discussion. I offered my spare set of IMACS Quarterly to a colleague in Belgium and became apoplectic at the cost of postage. What if I could simply refer him to an online reading source.

The first question is easy. I simply felt that the people who did the thinking, research, and writing should be credited by name. In this case those were gentlemen who themselves had great major collections, and super information archives, but also contributed to the literature on the subject. We as current collector should be thankful to such men. Because of their contributions, we now know almost too much about the Wiking ship, military vehicle, and aircraft ranges. And a whole lot about the ranges like Pilot and Eskader which share that era of history.
